Scheveningen is one of the busiest seaside resorts in the Netherlands. This means that parking, especially during the summer months, requires some preparation. The car parks around the boulevard are the most comfortable choice: spacious, safe, and often within walking distance of some of the main attractions. Free parking in Scheveningen is virtually impossible during peak season, but with the right choice, you won't pay more than necessary.

Not coming by car? You'll be fine then too. Scheveningen is easily accessible by public transport, bicycle or taxi. On this page, you'll find the most useful information for every mode of travel, so you can start your day at Werelds completely carefree.

Parking in Scheveningen: all options at a glance

Scheveningen is very busy, and therefore it is important to check beforehand where you can park. Especially in the summer, the beach at Scheveningen is busy with cars. Most car parks are open 24 hours a day. On the Scheveningen Boulevard A total of 11 disabled parking spaces can be found. It is possible to park in Scheveningen in various locations and therefore we will highlight the Parking options listed for you.

Street parking in Scheveningen is possible, but it's neither the cheapest nor the most convenient option. The charge along the boulevard is €7 per hour, and on most spots, there's a maximum parking duration of 30 to 120 minutes.

APCOA Parking Kurhaus – P3

The famous Kurhaus hotel also has its own car park. This is centrally located on the boulevard, a short walk from Werelds.

Havenkwartier Car Park – P4

Zwarte Pad Car Park

Zwarte Pad car park has 450 parking spaces and is open all year round.

What does parking cost in Scheveningen?

Parking around Scheveningen beach has become considerably more expensive in recent years. From 2025, the on-street parking rate will increase to €7 per hour. That quickly adds up for a day at the beach.

  • Interparking Boulevard – €5.40 per hour, maximum €35.00 per day
  • APCOA Strand P1 – €5.00 per hour, max. €39.50 per day
  • APCOA Nieuwe Parklaan P2 – €4.60 per hour, max. €35.00 per day
  • APCOA Kurhaus P3 - €5.00 per hour, max. €39.50 per day

  • Zwarte Pad (grounds) – €7.00 per hour, max. €30 per day

  • Street parking – €7.00 per hour, max. €50 per day

Tip: Reserve your parking space at Interparking Boulevard online in advance. This way you are guaranteed a spot and you will save on parking costs.

Public transport to beach restaurant Werelds

Beach restaurant Werelds is also with the public transport Easily accessible. Get off at Den Haag Holland Spoor or Den Haag Centraal train station and then take bus or tram line 1, 9 or 11 to Strand-Noord 54 in Scheveningen. From Den Haag Centraal, you can also take bus line 22 directly to Scheveningen beach. You won't need to change buses. You'll reach Scheveningen beach from both stations within 15 minutes.

Tram lines from The Hague:

  • Tram 1 and 9 from The Hague CS and HS → Kurhaus or Zwarte Pad stop
  • Tram 11 from The Hague CS → Scheveningen Bad stop
  • Bus line 22 runs directly from The Hague Central Station to the beach. You can reach the beach from both stations within 15 minutes.

Reach restaurant Werelds by bike or taxi

By bike

Scheveningen is easily accessible by bike via well-signposted cycle routes. In addition to unsupervised bicycle parking, you can also pay to park your bicycle at the supervised Biesieklette bicycle parks. They are located right on the beach. This is convenient if you are travelling with an OV-fiets (public transport bicycle).

Felyx, Go Sharing, or Check e-scooters can be parked in designated bays on the Korte Zeekant, just a two-minute walk from the promenade. Shared bikes can be parked in the free bike racks along the beach.

By taxi

Besides the well-known taxi companies, you can also opt for the taxi service Uber. In addition to a starting fare, take into account a per-kilometre rate and a per-minute rate.

Handy parking tips for a visit to Scheveningen

Getting off to a flying start will make your beach day a lot more enjoyable. Below you'll find practical tips that will reduce your stress and your costs.

  • Book in advance. At Interparking Boulevard and Q-Park, you can reserve a spot online. On sunny days, it is advisable to enter the car park before 10:00 AM to avoid queues.
  • Choose a garage over street parking. On the street, the maximum parking duration in many places is only 30 to 120 minutes, and the tariff is higher than in the car parks.
  • Use Park+Beach during the summer season. For a whole day at the beach this is by far the cheapest option if you are travelling with several people.
  • Come on weekdays. In the summer, there is extra parking enforcement. Those who don't pay will immediately receive a fine. During the week, it's quieter and there are more spaces available.
  • Please observe the parking duration when parking on the street. In residential streets around the boulevard, a maximum of 30 to 120 minutes applies. At five locations, you will always pay the fixed daily rate of €50.
  • There are a total of 11 disabled parking spaces on the boulevard in Scheveningen.
