The Pier of Scheveningen

The original Pier, a wooden structure built on a foundation made of steel, was completely destroyed during the Second World War. It was rebuilt in 1959, but has clearly been prone to wear and tear ever since. Some locals wonder if it’s worth ‘saving’ and whether it would be better to get rid of it. However, even despite its looks, the Pier is an iconic symbol for Scheveningen. Also, it is home to several sport and adventure organizations. Did you know that you can go floating, bungee jumping or zip lining here?
